NFL Week 15 is here, which means there are only a few weeks left in the NFL regular season…..
Let’s get you prepped on the big games this week – guess what – there are quite a few…..
Dallas (10-3) @ Buffalo (7-6) 4:25 PM EST (On Sunday):
Ah yes, the Cowboys are the team that everyone is talking about right now.
The victory over the Eagles last Sunday has Dallas fans in absolute delirium over the thought of making it to a Super Bowl.
We have all seen this before, so let’s see how the Cowboys react this week.
Next up on the slate is a team that NO ONE wants to face right now – the Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo is coming off a MASSIVE win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and one the Bills desperately needed to have.
The early season losses have put the Bills in a tough position to make the playoffs.
Buffalo will likely need to win out to make the postseason, so this weeks game against Dallas is another big one.
The Bills come in as -2 favorites for this one.
Baltimore (10-3) @ Jacksonville (8-5) 8:20 PM EST (On Sunday):
Can anyone stop the Ravens?
The Jags will get a chance to take down one of the hottest teams in the NFL, on Sunday Night Football no less.
After an 8-3 start, Jacksonville has dropped the last two, primarily because Trevor Lawrence has been dealing with an injury.
Lawrence, and the rest of the Jags will have to play better if they want any chance of knocking off the Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore is a -3 favorite for this one.
Philadelphia (10-3) @ Seattle (6-7) 8:15 PM EST (On Monday):
Talk about two teams who BADLY need a win.
The Eagles seem to have regressed this season – they have gone from being a REALLY good team to being a good team.
Philly has dropped the last two against two of the better teams in the NFL – San Francisco and Dallas.
In order to guarantee a repeat as NFC East Champs the Eagles will have to win out from here.
Up next is a tough matchup against the Seahawks in Seattle.
Like Philadelphia, Seattle is BADLY due a win.
The Seahawks have lost 4 straight and 5 of 6.
Also, Seattle tends to play much better at home, so this will be a tough matchup for Philly.
The Eagles are a -3 favorite in what is a PIVOTAL game for both teams.
Denver (7-6) @ Detroit (9-4) 8:15 PM EST (On Saturday):
We have some Saturday NFL games, and this is the best game out of the 3 game slate.
Denver and Detroit seem to be heading in different directions.
Denver has built real optimism following a less than impressive opening portion of the season.
In fact, the Broncos have won 6 of 7 and have a chance to make the playoffs.
On the other side, the Lions have been shaky of late.
Detroit started the season out great, but Jared Goff has been struggling recently, which has meant the Lions have lost 2 of 3 (and were lucky it is not 3 of 4).
The good news for Detroit is Goff tends to play much better at home, so the Lions will hope they can get back on track against the Broncos.
Detroit is a -4.5 favorite in this one.
Tampa Bay (6-7) @ Green Bay (6-7) 1:00 PM EST (On Sunday):
Why is a matchup of two 6-7 teams so important?
Because playoff spots are up for grabs in this one.
Tampa Bay currently leads the NFC South, so another win would help boost their chances of hosting a playoff game.
Green Bay currently occupies the 7th seed in the NFC and a win here would boost their chances of keeping that spot.
So, despite each team’s record there is a lot at stake as the Packers head in as -3.5 favorites.
NFL week 14 is here!
Let’s get you prepared for the week’s biggest games…..
Philadelphia (10-2) @ Dallas (9-3) 8:20 PM EST:
Obviously this one is a massive game for both sides.
But it is definitely more imperative for the Cowboys to win.
Dallas has not won a big game in FOREVER, they are at home, favorites, expected to win, and playing an Eagles team that just got embarrassed last week.
In other words, I think this will be another failed season for America’s Team if the Cowboys fail to win on Sunday Night.
It is that important.
For Philly, they are not playing with house money, but most people will not expect them to win.
They have been struggling for a few weeks, and it seemed to finally catch up to them against the 49ers last time out.
But you never know who will win when the Cowboys and Eagles play – Dallas comes in as -3.5 favorites in what has the makings of a great game.
Buffalo (6-6) @ Kansas City (8-4) 4:25 PM EST:
These teams are not in the same division, but you would think it with how many times they have played these last few years.
Buffalo and Kansas City has become one of the marquee games in the NFL, and this one is no different.
Neither team is quite where they want to be at this stage in the season, but my prediction is that both teams are about to hit their strides.
In other words, this should be another classic between these two, so expect fireworks from Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
The Chiefs are only -1 favorites, so this will likely come down to the last possession.
Los Angeles Rams (6-6) @ Baltimore (9-3) 1:00 PM EST:
I am intrigued by this matchup…..
The high powered Rams offense goes up against a strong Ravens defense in a key game for both teams.
Baltimore needs to keep winning if they want to get the number one seed in the AFC, with the hopes of getting Lamar Jackson to a Super Bowl.
The Rams need to keep winning if they want to stay in playoff contention.
Baltimore is a -7.5 favorite in this one, which seems a bit high to me.
Yes the Ravens have been playing well recently, especially at home, but the Rams have some weapons to cause some problems.
Seattle (6-6) @ San Francisco (9-3) 4:05 PM EST:
It is a testament to how good the Niners are that they come in as -13.5 favorites against a decent Seahawks team.
Yes, there is a chance that Seattle could be without Geno Smith, but still…..
San Francisco is a class above compared to everyone else in the NFL right now.
As long as the 49ers stay healthy they seem as good a bet as any to make a Super Bowl run.
All behind the solid play of the young Brock Purdy, and company.
It is definitely an exciting time to be a 49ers fan.
Jacksonville (8-4) @ Cleveland (7-5) 1:00 PM EST:
Trevor Lawrence looks like he is going to play?!?!?!
Are you serious?
That dude looked like he was going to be done for the season last Monday, and now he is coming back on the field less than a week later.
He is one tough cookie.
And the wild part is, this is a big game for both teams.
The winner will start to feel good about their playoff chances in the crowded AFC.
In what could be a defensive battle, I will be curious to see how Lawrence does against the vaunted Browns defense.
We are now 5-3 on the year for the mighty teaser picking!
Let’s keep the good times going – we have won 4 in a row, so let’s make it 5!
Remember, this is a 13 point teaser pick based entirely off of gut aka not a system pick.
You will see the picks as well as a brief explanation below.
Iowa @ Nebraska — Take the OVER (11.5)
Texas Tech @ Texas (Take UT -1)
Oregon State @ Oregon (Take OR -1)
Texas A&M @ LSU (Take LSU +2)
Iowa @ Nebraska — Take the OVER (11.5):
Totals have likely never been discussed more than with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
This is quite honestly unbelievable that the actual total is 24.5.
Could this game end 7-3?
Yeah, but come on.
SURELY they can combine for more than 12 points……SURELY.
Texas Tech @ Texas (Take UT -1):
Texas has had some narrow wins over the past month, but hopefully this one will be a bit more straight forward.
The Longhorns are at home, and playing a pretty average Texas Tech team.
In addition, Texas must win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
With Texas winning each game since their lone loss to Oklahoma – I expect that to continue.
Oregon State @ Oregon (Take OR -1):
Oregon has been one of the hottest teams in the country, and now they are at home in a big rivalry game.
Obviously, Oregon State lost last time out, so all the momentum is with the Ducks.
Oregon needs to keep winning to have a chance at the CFP – if they win out they will probably be in the playoff.
I expect Oregon to keep rolling and win this one.
Texas A&M @ LSU (Take LSU +2):
LSU USUALLY wins at home, so I am assuming that trend continues here.
Jayden Daniels needs another good performance to boost his growing Heisman case, and Texas A&M is a team in disarray.
There will also be an element of revenge at play after the Aggies beat the Tigers last year, thus knocking LSU out of playoff contention.
Go ahead and take the LSU +2 here.
We are officially at rivalry week!
This is the most fun, important, and dramatic week of the College Football season, so let’s get you prepped for the week’s biggest games…..
#2 Ohio State (11-0) @ #3 Michigan (11-0) 12:00 PM EST (On Saturday):
THE GAME has likely not had this amount of significance in years.
Yes, the past few years have had some dramatic turning points – namely the Wolverines finally getting over the hump and beating the Buckeyes.
But, this year is uncharted territory.
The sign stealing scandal from Michigan has rocked College Football to the point where all eyes are on the Wolverines.
As a result of the scandal, Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan head coach, is serving a three game suspension which will conclude this Saturday.
On the other side you have Ryan Day, the Ohio State head coach, who is MAYBE sorta kinda fighting for his job?
I know that is hard to believe given the consistent success he has had as coach of Ohio State, but he has largely faltered in important games.
His record against Michigan (1-2) is also a red flag, and one he will want to correct this Saturday.
Michigan comes in as -3.5 favorites in a game that will likely be close.
With a College Football Playoff spot on the line, this is a game MILLIONS will be watching….
#16 Oregon State (8-3) @ #6 Oregon (10-1) 8:30 PM EST (On Friday):
The last matchup between these two schools as conference foes carries major significance.
The Beavers have a chance to leave a painful parting gift to Duck nation.
Oregon must win to keep their playoff hopes alive….
The odds are in favor of Oregon winning.
The Ducks have been one of the hottest teams in the country since their close loss to Washington.
In addition, Oregon will have the benefit of home field advantage, which is why Oregon comes in as a -13.5 favorite.
Look for Bo Nix to have another strong game as he tries to build his Heisman case……
#5 Florida State (11-0) @ Florida (5-6) 7:00 PM EST (On Saturday):
If this game were played a week ago it would almost certainly not have carried the same significance.
But, that’s what happens when the starting quarterbacks get injured for both teams – things become a lot more wild.
For Florida State, they will have to keep their CFP hopes alive with new quarterback Tate Rodemaker, who is taking over for star Jordan Travis.
Florida State will know that if they can go 2-0 over these next two games they WILL be in the playoff.
Travis carried the Noles for large parts of the season, and now Rodemaker has to make his first start in a VERY tough environment.
On the other side is the Gators who not only want to win to knock out the Seminoles, but also need the win to make a bowl.
Clearly this is not where the Florida program should be, so it is not an understatement to say this game will be crucial in Gainesville.
The Gators come in as +6.5 underdogs as they try and pull off the upset.
#8 Alabama (10-1) @ Auburn (6-5) 3:30 PM EST (On Saturday):
It is too bad Auburn is not a bit better this year because this matchup is ALWAYS a must watch.
No matter the record, Alabama vs Auburn (the Iron Bowl) usually is a close and feisty encounter.
With the game being in Auburn this year – the hype will only grow.
Of course, these two teams are in vastly different positions.
Alabama has been on an absolute tear since losing to Texas back in September.
In fact, Alabama has arguably been the hottest team in the country – they certainly can make a case to be.
On the other side is an Auburn team that is in a rebuild.
Hugh Freeze took over a program in dire need of a reset, so not much is expected of the Tigers this week.
That is especially true since Auburn lost by 21 points at home to New Mexico State last time out.
However, as I mentioned, you can never count out some weird things happening in the Iron Bowl, so do not be fooled by Auburn being +14.5 underdogs.
Washington State (5-6) @ #4 Washington (11-0) 4:00 PM EST (On Saturday):
There are a surprisingly small amount of important/ranked matchups this weekend, so this game is being acknowledged as part of a shoutout to the Washington Huskies.
Washington has been through a GAUNTLET of a schedule this season.
They have faced 4 different ranked opponents, and have a rematch with a top 10 Oregon team next Saturday.
So the Huskies deserve a shoutout for still being undefeated at this point in the season.
They come in to this one as a -16.5 favorite, at home, vs a stuttering Washington State team.
Obviously, you can never be sure what is going to happen in a rivalry game, but clearly it would be a big shock if the Cougars pulled off the upset.
