As I’m writing this, I cannot believe how quickly the fantasy season is moving along. Nearly a quarter of the season will be finished after this weeks MNF game…
Enough of the bad news. Let’s look at the best starts in fantasy this week:
You may know who he is, you may not. If his name is familiar, then you must recall last season when he got the start. Last season, he averaged nearly 20 rushes a game for 86 yards a game. May not be all that impressive, but he was going against some of the best run defenses last season when he started. TB, SF, and GB.
Herbert went for 14 fantasy points a game last season when David Montgomery went down. Even better, Herbert produced +150 yards and 2 TD’s. David Montgomery has never put stats up like that in his entire career.
Assuming David Montgomery is inactive, I would start Herbert over names like James Conner, Zeke, Josh Jacobs, and even Kamara.
If you’re an Ekeler owner, I’m sorry. This is probably not how you envisioned his season starting. Ekeler right now is averaging 2.5 yards a carry. That is not the Ekeler we have seen in years past.
But, if there was a game for him to bounce back, it’d be against this Houston Texans team. Houston gave up 161 yards to Jonathon Taylor, 157 yards to Khalil Herbert, and 75 yards to Javonte Williams (5 YPC).
If Ekeler doesn’t finish with a strong stat line, then I would start to get very concerned about him.
Just due to the matchup, make sure to keep him in your lineup.
Lamb owners should feel a bit of relief after the MNF game. They watched Ceedee drop a 50 yard touchdown. And when I say drop… he completely let a ball fall through both of his hands. As a Cowboys fan, it made me second guess if he should continue wearing 88.
Ceedee “redeemed” himself after a nice one hand snag for a touchdown that gave him the fantasy numbers he needed.
This week, Ceedee goes against a lackluster secondary against the Commanders. Ceedee is targeted the 6th most in the NFL and should be able to put up a solid fantasy finish this weekend.
Pittman came up with a decent week 3 finish with 8-72-0. He is without a doubt the number 1 guy in Indy and he is going up against a poor Tennessee pass defense. By the end of the season, I believe Pittman will prove to be matchup proof.
Sleeper QB of the Week
I’m rolling with Marcus Mariota.
Mariota is not what I would call a must start, but in a deep league and you’re looking to stream, Mariota is not a bad option to get off your waivers for this week.
Mariota has had solid numbers for a QB stream and is going against a mediocre Cleveland defense. Mariota also has rushing abilities. A good portion of Mariota’s carries don’t come from scrambling but designed rush plays. That’s a very good sign if you’re looking for a fantasy cheat code like a Lamar or Jalen Hurts.
I would start Mariota over names like Stafford, Zach Wilson, Jimmy G, and Geno Smith
Enjoy football this weekend and I’ll see you next week!
