It was not the prettiest, but the job was done all the same when we came out victorious in our teaser pick last week!
Two of the 4 picks lost outright (Arkansas and USC) but the power of the tease allowed them to cover.
Now, we have THIS weeks version of the teaser pick – I am hoping to improve on my 2-3 record.
Below are my picks for a 13 point teaser – remember this is a gut pick aka not a system pick.
Georgia (Take UGA -1.5) vs Florida
USC (Take USC +2.5) @ California
New England @ Miami (Take MIA +3.5)
Las Vegas @ Detroit (Take DET +5.5)
Georgia (Take UGA -1.5) vs Florida:
I know the Bulldogs are without Brock Bowers heading into this one, BUT this is still Georgia.
I have documented numerous times how they sleep walk through games and still win – I expect that to continue here.
Florida is a solid, respectable SEC team, but they are no match for the Dawgs.
Furthermore, consistency is very hard to find in sports, but the Georgia Bulldogs are about as close as it comes.
That is what gives me the confidence to take Georgia here – even without Brock Bowers.
USC (Take USC +2.5) @ California:
This is probably my ballsiest pick of the week – I am going back to the well and taking USC!
I know they lost last week (but they did cover in our tease) which means that is back to back losses for the Trojans.
SURELY USC won’t lose 3 in a row……
California is a middle of the road PAC 12 team, and while the Trojans don’t have a lot to play for, USC is the better team.
If Caleb Williams plays JUST okay, then USC should win this game.
Please do not let this be the one that ruins the tease….. come on USC!
New England @ Miami (Take MIA +3.5):
Through 7 games we have seen the Dolphins follow the mantra of “beating up on the little guy, but get beaten by the big guy”.
Well, the Patriots are not a big guy…..
There is always the worry that Bill Belichick will pull a rabbit out of his hat and pull off a surprise upset, but Miami should win here.
Miami has BY FAR the better collection of talent, AND as a bonus the Patriots typically struggle in Miami.
Even going back to the Brady days, the Patriots have had plenty of losses when facing the Dolphins in Miami.
Let’s hope that trend continues here…..
Las Vegas @ Detroit (Take DET +5.5):
Clearly, I am viewing the Lions loss last week as an anomaly.
Yes they got blown out 38-6, but I think that was just “a bad day at the office” against a good Ravens team.
Besides last game, the Lions have consistently played well through the first 7 weeks.
With them being at home AND going up against a below average Raiders squad – I like the Lions to cover the +5.5 here.
