Happy Friday folks!
Ended up going 2/4 on my picks last night so not terrible.
Mark Andrews ended up starting but sat midgame due to injury, tough beat.
Anyways, we’re moving on and keeping the head up.
SF (-1.5) @ LAR
Let’s face it, the Rams are not what they were last season.
Nor are the 9ers due to injuries all over the defense.
But, these teams played at the beginning of the month and the 9ers pulled away 24-9. Now they get McCaffrey with a full week of practice and will give him the bulk of the carries.
Now, I’m not sure what you know about CMC, but he’s pretty good. He is a difference-maker and can make something out of nothing. I mean, his whole career was spent in Carolina.
Deebo probably won’t play and that’s fine. CMC will replace his role without problems. Not to mention, Aiyuk has been playing great in the last few weeks.
The 49ers have a solid offensive line and should be able to contain Aaron Dolanld to some degree.
Miami (-3) @ DET
Here’s the thing…
Miami, when they have Tua, is pretty good…
They have the best WR duo in the league right now and a capable quarterback.
DET may have the worst defense in the league and it will be amazing if DET can keep TUA under 300 passing yards.
I highly doubt it though.
Sure, Miami’s defense isn’t something to write home about but purely from an offensive perspective, Miami is the better offense despite the stats you may see.
ARI @ MIN (-3.5)
Have you seen the Kyler Murray stats during Call of Duty double XP weekend?
I haven’t but I hear it’s pretty bad.
I believe the new COD came out today so Kyler has bigger fish to fry.
And if you think NFL players getting into gaming is a joke, you’re wrong.
Kyler’s teammate, Hollywood Brown, talked about retiring from football in the offseason to pursue professional gaming.
Gaming is a massive industry and Kyler has to get his reps in on the new Modern Warfare.
Overall, I don’t care for the Cardinals team as a whole. The defense is poor and Kyler at his best is overrated.
MIN is an NFC conference contender and they’re playing at home after a bye week. While Kyler is playing Call of Duty, Kirk Cousins is game planning how to pick apart this awful defense.
DEN @ JAX (-2.5) and Etienne OVER 69.5 rushing yards
I’m sorry to be this guy… but JAX is good.
They’re not great, and I don’t see them making the playoffs, but they are just good.
Their defense is better than you’d think and they have a stud in that offense.
Travis Etienne is the best running back in the NFL that you don’t pay enough attention to.
Behind Kenneth Walker and Khalil Herbert, Etienne is third in yards per carry at 6.1.
Which is insane to me. Etienne is not that quick, but he is strong and hard to bring down.
Etienne ran a 4.5 40 but has a BMI +30. You wouldn’t think he was a power back looking at him, but you cannot take Etienne down with an arm tackle.
Denver has a solid defense, really the only positive about this team in general.
Not to mention, the flight from Denver to London is quite the haul.
Expect a run heavy attack from JAX and watch Etienne take over this game.
NE (-2.5) @ NYJ
After a stunner Monday night against CHI, it’s time for NE to get back on track.
Listen, I loved the Jets. I thought they had both offensive and defensive rookies of the year on their team.
But things change, and Breece went down.
The difference between Breece Hall and Michael Carter is substantial in my eyes and Breece was the heartbeat of this offense.
The Jets did go and get James Robinson, who is better than Carter, but he won’t be ready with a full playbook for another couple of weeks.
NE needs a bounce-back game and the Pats are currently working on a 13-game win streak.
Sauce Gardner is great, but the Pats don’t need to throw the ball to win this game. Let Rhamondre and Harris handle the offense and don’t let Mac Jones or Zappe lose the game for you. That’s the recipe for a Pats win.
Zach Wilson has looked pretty rough so far this season and I don’t expect that to turn around this weekend.
The system picks will be posted Sunday morning… Hopefully, some of my picks align with the algorithms seeing that the system has been red hot to start the year.
Free system picks will be posted around noon EST on Sunday morning. You can view those picks by signing up. Email [email protected] if you need assistance.
Hopefully, the gut-feeling bets pan out this weekend since my 5 leg parlay from last week did not hit.
Enjoy your Friday and have a great weekend, folks!
