NFL Week 3 TNF Preview: NYG @ SF

Tonight’s NFL TNF matchup pits the New York Giants (1-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (2-0)….

It is time to see how this matchup will play out…..

New York comes into this game off of a less than ideal start.

They lost 40-0 at home in week one to their divisional rivals the Dallas Cowboys.

Then in week two the Giants were down 7-28 to the NFL’s worst team, the Arizona Cardinals, before making a furious rally to win the game 31-28.

Now comes their toughest test yet.

A road trip to one of the NFL’s best in the 49ers.

And, to compound the issue the Giants will be without their best player Saquon Barkley, who was injured late in the win vs Arizona.

No pressure New York!

On the other side the 49ers are loaded, hence the reason for San Francisco being -10.5 favorites.

The weapons they have on both sides of the ball are ridiculous – on offense it’s Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle – on defense it’s Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave, and Fred Warner.

Pulling the strings at quarterback is Brock Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft (Mr. Irrelevant), and who continues to defy the odds with his steady, solid, and consistent play.

So how will the game play out?

New York will have to find some way to run the ball in order to mitigate the San Francisco pass rush.

Unfortunately for the Giants, based on the first two weeks it looks like they have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

On the defensive side of the ball New York will have to find a way to slow San Fran’s weapons, which will be easier said than done.

Getting pressure on Purdy would be a good goal for the Giants, and attempting to slow down McCaffrey.

Obviously, all of this is much easier said than done, and the Giants will have their hands full for this game.

Happy Betting!
