Week 6 of the NFL season kicks off tonight with a matchup between the Broncos and the Chiefs.
As we embark on the official 1/3rd mark of the NFL season let’s get you previewed for tonight’s game.
Denver (1-4) @ Kansas City (4-1) 8:15 PM EST:
This is the classic “bad team meets good team, so good team should win easily” game.
The Chiefs are currently -10.5 favorites, which is for a reason.
The Broncos have been woeful, especially on defense.
Last year the Broncos defense was a strength, and the only reason they stayed in games.
Now, Denver’s defense is a joke (see them giving up 70 points to Miami as a reference point).
So, now that Denver is on the road in primetime against the reigning Super Bowl champs, and more specifically Patrick Mahomes, the Broncos have no chance……right?
The Broncos PROBABLY have no chance, but it is not definitive.
When looking at this game, the stat I always go back to is despite being terrible last year the Broncos were able to keep both games against the Chiefs to one score.
Sometimes the narrative that “teams are in the same division, so they know each other better and play games close” holds true – it certainly did for these two last year.
It will likely be too much for Denver to win, but don’t be surprised if it finishes as a one score game.
